The Emir of Gwoza, Alhaji Idrissa Timta, in Borno state passed away on
Friday, May 30, 2014 as members of Boko Haram terrorist group ambushed
and attacked attacked a convoy of the Emirs of Gwoza, Uba, Alhaji Ali
Ibn Ismaila Mamza II, and Askira, Alhaji Abdullahi Ibn Muhammed Askirama
II, who were travelling to Gombe for the funeral of the late Emir of
Gombe.
Nigerian troops deployed in Garkida responded to the attack and the Emirs of Uba and Askira were secured, according to a statement from the defence headquarters spokesman, Maj. Gen. Chris Olukolade.
