Man dies after running into burning bonfire fire during festival (SEE VIDEO)

Reports say a man has been confirmed dead after running into a burning bon fire in what many believe was suicide.

People were having a great time at the Element 11 festival in Utah, before the man ran into the ceremonial bon fire on Saturday night.

The fire had been burning for about thirty minutes, when 30-year-old Christopher Wallace, breached security and ran into the flames, witnesses said.

Wallace was going too fast for party goers to stop him from running into the burning 30 foot tall effigy, which was built to represent a character from the book "Where the Wild Things Are."

More than 1,200 people attended the festival. According to witnesses, Wallace was seen dancing about 11:00 p.m., as he made his way towards the fire.

Authorities said that there were about 30 volunteers who formed a perimeter around the fire to keep people from getting too close. However, he went passed them.

Those close to the man tried to scream and even chase him away, but were unable to stop him.
