Two brothers die after dinking holy water in Delta

  A 25-year-old woman, Ese Oghenevwe, and a pastor, Austin Eduviere, have been arrested by the police in Delta State following a report that her two sons died after consuming a liquid substance the priest gave to her.

According to a statement on Wednesday by the state Police Public Relations Officer, DSP Celestina Kalu, the police at Abraka received information that the woman had killed her two children, Prayer Clement (nine months) and Wisdom Clement (two years), by giving them a liquid substance to drink.


   “Based on the information, detectives arrested Oghenevwe. The suspect revealed that the liquid substance was given to her by Eduviere of Triumphant World International Church, Abraka, for healing purposes.
“She added that the postle claimed he had prayed over it,” the PPRO said.

Kalu said the apostle explained that the said liquid substance was a mixture of water and salt which he sells to people at N1,850 for healing of various sicknesses after praying for them.

The police also said they arrested a carjacker and recovered a stolen vehicle on Wednesday.

The police spokesman, said, “Police patrol team from Abraka Police Division, while on stop-and-search duty at Police Station junction, Abraka, intercepted a Toyota Camry marked, LAGOS, LSD 264 AC, with two occupants.

“Immediately the vehicle stopped, one of the suspects alighted and took to his heels while the other, later identified as Akpos Omote, was arrested. The suspect has confessed that they snatched the car from one 

Mrs. Jane Esegbe at Udu, in Udu LGA in Delta state.“The Toyota Camry has been recovered, while efforts are on to apprehend the fleeing suspect.”
