#EkitiGate : APC accuses Nigerian millitary of complicity in the rigging of Ekiti election

The All Progressive Congress has urged the National Assembly to investigate the role played by the military in Ekiti State governorship election.

Reacting to a secretly-recorded audio tape of a meeting in Ado-Ekiti, on the eve of the June 21st governorship election, APC National Publicity Secretary, Lai Mohammed said everyone featured in that audio should testify.

Alhaji Mohammed said the military should not be used for policing duties during elections, as this is the duty of the Police and civil defence.

The APC spokesman wondered why over 1,000 troops would be deployed for election, at the time the military was battling Boko Haram in the North-east.
