Jon Stewart to step down from the Daily Show

Comedian Jon Stewart will leave as the host of Comedy Central's satirical show "The Daily Show" later this year, the network said in a statement released on Tuesday.

"His comedic brilliance is second to none," said Michele Ganeless, the network's president, adding that the presenter would stay at the helm until later this year.
