Giroud: Arsenal can’t catch Chelsea

Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud has admitted that the Gunners cannot catch Premier League leaders Chelsea following Sunday afternoon’s 0-0 draw against Jose Mourinho’s side, report the Daily Star.

The Blues produced a typically resilient performance at the Emirates Stadium and Arsene Wenger’s men struggled to break down the visitors, who celebrated their solitary point vigorously at the final whistle.

The celebrations, which were led by Chelsea captain John Terry, sparked a chant of “Boring, Boring, Chelsea” to rain down onto the pitch, but the west Londoners’ players knew how big a result they had achieved.

A 10-point cushion over their rivals with just five games left to play is a huge one to claw back and Giroud has conceded defeat in the title race.

“I think it is over now to be honest. They have to win just one game or maybe have a draw. So you have to be honest with yourself, they are 10 points ahead with five games to go,” Giroud insisted.
